Privacy policy
Short, because there is not much to say. This is a working musician's website, not a data business.
What gets collected
Only what you type into the enquiry form on the contact page: your name, email address, and optionally a phone number, event type, date and venue, plus whatever you write in the message box.
Nothing else. There is no account to create, no newsletter signup, and no hidden field collecting anything you have not typed.
What it is used for
Answering your enquiry. That is the whole purpose. Your details are not sold, rented, traded, or passed to any third party for marketing.
If a booking goes ahead, the relevant details (date, venue, times, your contact number) are used to run the booking and may be shared with a venue or a booking agency where that is necessary to do the job. Nothing beyond that.
Where it is stored
Enquiries arrive as an email and stay in an email inbox. They are not written to a database on this website, and this website does not hold a customer list.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising pixels or session tracking. You are not being followed around.
Two things do reach outside servers:
- Google Fonts. The typeface is loaded from Google's servers, which means Google sees the request. If that matters to you, a font blocker will stop it and the site will still work.
- Video. Where video is embedded on the media page, the player is not loaded until you click it. Until you press play, YouTube receives nothing. The privacy-enhanced YouTube domain is used, which does not set tracking cookies before playback.
The web host keeps standard server access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) as every web host does. Those are used for security and troubleshooting, not for profiling.
Spam protection
The enquiry form uses a hidden field and a timing check to catch automated submissions. No third-party CAPTCHA service is used, so no data about you is sent anywhere to prove you are a person.
Your choices
You can ask at any time for a copy of what is held about you, or ask for it to be deleted. Email bookings@darrenscott.net and it will be dealt with promptly. There is no process to go through.
Children
This site is aimed at people booking entertainment and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes the updated version appears here. The current version is dated September 2026.
